An excerpted Nine Inch Nails release is remixed with public domain footage from the Prelinger Archive. "24 Ghosts III" provides the bed track, from the 2008 Creative Commons 3.0-licensed collection "Ghosts" by Nine Inch Nails, via the Internet Archive at www.archive.org/details/nineinchnails_ghosts_I_IV The video source reel is a heavily damaged copy of "The Ninth Element" (1954), courtesy of the Prelinger Archive at www.archive.org/details/prelinger

Recorded in 1994, this home version of an Aerosmith classic is culturally abused almost twenty years later by the addition of public-domain clips from the Prelinger Archive ( archive.org/details/prelinger ) and the technomagic of a Macintosh workstation. Sorry about the flub in the opening lyric! We didn't have an internet to look up stuff on things like that back then. The iconic Joey Kramer beat was transcribed to a Roland TR707 rhythm composer, and the guitar is most likely the white BC Rich...

Originally recorded in about 1989, this was one of the first times using my Roland TR-707 rhythm composer and Fostex X-30 multitrack cassette recorder. Two tracks of Ovation Matrix 6-string were open-air miked with an Audio Technica AT-41, and then the two vocal tracks were dubbed in through a Boss RRV10 reverb unit. 25 years later, the original cassette was remastered for digital import into Adobe Premiere, so any degradation in sound quality is proof of the analog age in which it was first...

Babes, cars, and electric guitars! There's even some stuff blowing up. This new cut has it all! Vintage autos and explosive dance sequences frame the story with additional support from a couple of guys out in the desert trying to make a map. A bunch of cool public-domain clips from the Prelinger Archive at archive.org/details/prelinger were grabbed to put this one together: -- Touch Of Magic (1961) for the couple loving their car -- Caught Mapping (1940) for the two guys in the desert trying to...

Recorded in the early 1990s in our Poughkeepsie brownstone studios, this Lyn Faber release has only been previously available on the limited cassette issue of Songs For Boys And Girls (1994). All performance and production by Lyndon Lorenz: Two tracks of electric on the BC Rich; bass on the Rickenbacker 4003; drum programming on the Roland TR707; and double-tracked vocal (miked on an Audio Technica AT41), all laid into 4-track cassette on a Fostex X30. But jeez: reworking the old tapes twenty...

Welcome to the metropolis of tomorrow: Building Is People is the joyful new celebration of the people and the processes that make communities happen, thanks to the Prelinger Archive and CC-licensed music from Leggysalad. Hundreds of shots from more than 40 video source reels were cut up for this, including "Form, Design, And The City" (1962); "Lost Landscapes Of Detroit" (2010); "Once And Forever" (1956); "Out Of This World" (1954); and "Dynamic...

Yes indeed. This is the latest design & engineering remix out of our exclusive Hoboken command center, featuring the Akai Miniak with the Roland TR707 rhythm composer in a mashup showing how professional interrelationships drive economic diversity as a cornerstone of community planning. Or something like that. The two public domain source reels for the video come from the always-appreciated Prelinger Archive at archive.org; the color clips are from Road To Better Living (1959), with the...

Whoa! This new digital dance track is a slammingly dope mix of ultrafresh loops and vintage video clips in a crazy mashup spinning the word on the science of sound and hearing. And how can you not definitely dig the always-outrageous free archive of public domain stock footage from The Prelinger Archive at archive.org? We totally nailed them up for some clips: -- How To Listen To New Dimensions in Sound (1957) -- How The Ear Functions (1940) -- Living Stereo (1958) Here's how it all went down:...

This is having a tremendous impact. Impact is the new hit single from Lyndon Lorenz, issuing incognito as Lyn Faber pounding on GarageBand and iMovieHD. All video is from a single source reel, "Impact 66", and features heavy salesmanship with appearances by Bonanza's Lorne Greene. The public domain video was gratefully pinched from the ever-uber-awesome Prelinger Archive at archive.org, and is a multimedia sales tool hyping a Chevrolet dealers' campaign in the mid-1960s. So I spent...

The Master Plan is the intense new dance video on urban design, featuring footage of the GM Futurama exhibit at the 1939 World's Fair as well as urban design animation atop a funky mashup of GarageBand clips from Lyndon Lorenz, releasing the piece as Lyn Faber in this Internet Archive world premiere. Gotta hand it to that Prelinger Archive at www.archive.org; every clip in this music video is free public domain stock from a variety of source files, including: -- To New Horizons (1940) --...

You need to check this in fullscreen right now. Inspired by hip hop veteran Dr. Dre (NWA) and prog rock pioneers Emerson, Lake & Palmer, The Planets is the new Lyn Faber hit out of the Hoboken lab of Lyndon Lorenz. Turns out that Dre's been working for two years on an instrumental epic conceptually based around the planets. Dude: go for it. The ELP connection was a recent viewing of an amazing live performance of Pirates during their 1977 orchestral tour. The public-domain source clip for...

We'll say it right now: thank you so much to the Prelinger Archive at archive.org for the public-domain source reel. Aluminum is the all-new design & engineering mashup smelted out of GarageBand and iMovie HD in the exclusive Lyn Faber studios at the center of the world in the beautiful downtown Hoboken rental of Lyndon Lorenz. The original music track was compiled as usual from a bunch of chopped up loops and beats out of Apple Jam Packs and AMG. The video is all from the 1956 Jam Handy...

Dynamic American Cities is the new digital dance track about community planning featuring original music by Lyndon Lorenz off the Casio SK-5 and mixed down to the Zoom MRS-1044. We can't quite figure out where the audio sample was lifted from -- you're on your own with that. Maybe it was from the 1961 General Motors film "Touch of Magic". After the music file was framed out on the multitracker, it was then transferred to the new iMac for finishing in GarageBand, and synchronizing in...

The Display Scope is the pyrotechnic new cold war epic with that cool and easy urban retro lounge vibe from Lyn Faber (or whatever; Lyndon Lorenz. You figure it out) featuring high-tech national defense systems and totally awesome stuff blowing up! The original music was laid down in GarageBand with heavy dippage into stock beats off an AMG disc. Once all that music stuff was mushed up round all real good, it was synchronized to the video footage in iMovie HD, taking about 30 hours from start...

Some Things just aren't easy to explain. This is the blistering new dance track out of Lyndon Lorenz (representing nationwide as Lyn Faber) blasting a menacing churn of industrial dangerosity on top of totally gross eyeball footage! Click it and crank it and nail it again. And as if we could forget: the stock footage is all public domain (and was all completely free!), courtesy of The Prelinger Archive at www.archive.org. The source reels are: -- The Unique Contribution (1959) for the main dude...

Everybody drinks coffee. How about a clip about it? How About A Percolator features the stentorian Chet Huntley and his bevy of post-modern women giving frank opinions against a dance track bubbling out of a Boss MRS-1044. Careful! Contents may be hot! How About A Percolator is one of the latest fab video clips from Lyndon Lorenz, releasing the work as Lyn Faber exclusively for the viewers at the Open Source Archive. As usual, special thanks go to The Prelinger Archives at www.archive.org for...

Concentrate On The Forehead Now. You can feel the tension there. More. Still more. Another example of cultural abuse by Lyndon Lorenz as Lyn Faber. That nice lady onscreen doesnt quite know what to make of Dr. Laird and his incessantly intoned instruction. Neither will you. But the dance sequence is sure to have viewers looking poised and dignified. Thats right. Showcasing footage from Let Yourself Go! (1940), courtesy of The Prelinger Archives at www.archive.org, Concentrate On The Forehead...

When You Run A Diner is an enigmatic digital video release featuring brief samples from the Beatles' Shes Leaving Home. An unwitting cast of patrons and employees alike is doomed to endlessly enduring varied experiences and encounters within the food handling industry.

PLEASE LADY! Possibly NSFW due to strenuously harsh and barking public address. STOP! The snarling bed track is a totally dangerous off-balance groove crunching out of a Roland Juno-6, with the chords for the chorus, and sound effects for the bridge, laid in over that. WAIT! Special thanks to The Prelinger Archive at www.archive.org for the numerous sources of stock footage. THIS IS THE VOICE OF SAFETY SPEAKING! Mascot Mickey is the latest outrageous video file from Lyndon Lorenz, who is releasing the work under his nom-de-pixel of Lyn Faber, exclusively for the Open Source Archive. Many thanks to the Prelinger Archives for making so many excellent source clips available! Mascot Mickey was first mixed as an audio track on a Boss MRS-1044 digital multitracker. Default drum and bass patterns were modified as needed, and soundbytes from our source clips were flown in off a Macintosh iMac DVD-SE. When the...
